Where would you go for a week or two on your own?

Somewhere safe for a single femaie, not too warm, nice scenery, relaxing

Good budget available.

Portugal. Lisbon is beautiful, and there are so many day trips you can travel for out of the city. The nearby town of Caiscais is fab as a base to stay in with an easy train into the city: gorgeous beaches and nearby coastal and clifftop walking, very international, and a lot of English speakers as well - which helps if you just want to chill and not feel self conscious or have the added struggle of worrying about communicating if lost etc.

Lanzarote. I went on my own and absolutely loved it.

Thanks for the suggestion so far.

What sort of things are you looking to do? I really like the North Norfolk coastal area, particularly the area around and in between Wells, Holkham and Burnham Market: you have good walking and running opportunities if that’s your sort of thing, the Holkham Estate to explore, lots of day trip possibilities (Walsingham, Sandringham, the marshes, seal spotting, Norwich, Kings Lynn) and it’s quiet and peaceful - although I’d probably struggle to spend more than a week there.

As a solo traveller I always opt for AirB&B / self-catering over hotels, if you don’t fancy eating out alone again you can just cook and relax. And my tastes are too basic for luxury hotels so don’t know of many, sorry!

I would go on a cruise, loads of solo travellers on our previous ones and very easy to sail from the UK. Relaxing on board, reading, sat out on deck watching the sea, tucked up in a bar with a drink, swimming or in the spa etc then exploring different ports. I do think it's a lovely way to travel solo.

Or in the UK I would do a tour of Scotland staying a few nights in different cities.

Skiathos.

We met a solo woman traveller when we were there and I was so jealous as she was living her best life. She was staying in a small luxury boutique hotel and spent most evenings eating in the attached restaurant, next to the pool and at the bar.

Thanks, a cruise sounds good. I’ll take a look
