Four months of young, hard-driving yet somehow winsome business women who get stranded in a Christmassy town and, after some confusion and costume changes, discover the true meaning of love, family and traditional American val-yews! Let the cliches commence, I am here for them!

Hooray! I will join you with some hot chocolate and a Mars bar. You forgot to mention the obligatory tree decorating or cookie baking contest present in approximately 97% off these shows...

Needmorelego · 06/09/2024 22:09

Oh fantastic 🧑‍🎄🎄

Comedycook · 06/09/2024 22:09

Widowed single father meets hot woman at a Christmas market over a hot chocolate.... blah blah blah

Comedycook · 06/09/2024 22:11

There's usually puppies, immaculately decorated beautiful homes, hunks in checked shirts and women with amazing bouncy blow dries

HeyPrestoAlakazam · 06/09/2024 22:11

I was fuming when I noticed this lol. We're a strictly no Christmas Movies until Advent household so won't be watching until at least 1st December as usual. I've recorded a few cheesy Autumn movies though and will join you in three months lol.

Comedycook · 06/09/2024 22:12

I actually hate Christmas but love these types of films

Isseywith3witchycats · 06/09/2024 22:14

Oh god no its bad enough that the dammed Spanish cycle race is on, my OH loves these bloody mushy movies it takes two minutes into the movie to know which guy she is going to fall for , that will be me with very little choice of telly

Piemam · 09/09/2024 21:45

@Compash , I've not had chance to watch any yet, but wondering if anyone would like to keep this chat going by recommendations of any to watch or even avoid. I'm sure there'll be multiple showings of some films.

SpinningOutWaitingForYa · 09/09/2024 22:01

I am so here for this!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 09/09/2024 22:02

Oh yay! Love these cheesy Christmas films.

Aproductofmyera80s · 09/09/2024 22:43

I have a list of cheesy Christmas movies that I watch every year… I record them and then start watching in November, as I have my movie advent in December and also Harry Potter…
will head over to check it out now 😂

HaleyBrookeandPeyton · 09/09/2024 22:45

Love these movies. Will start watching now it's started!

Deathraystare · 10/09/2024 08:34

Wooh! I love them. I am such a cynic at heart and these are so cheesey and predictable but somehow I feel all warm and cosey inside when I watch them!

SpinningOutWaitingForYa · 11/09/2024 07:15

Would love any recommendations!

Piemam · 26/11/2024 12:24

Forgot about this thread until I watched one such film- thoroughly recommend Boyfriends of Christmas Past; implausible plot, dream jobs that are so much fun, decor to die for, and a really cute male lead. It's on My5 so will probably be on Channel 5 at some point.

Any other recommendations?

DilemmaDelilah · 28/11/2024 10:47

I've just watched a really dreadful Christmas movie. I think it was called Merry Gentlemen. It was about a dancer who got the sack just before Christmas so moved back to her parents struggling small town show bar. They were just about to be evicted because of non-payment of rent, so she decided to put on a male dancer show (as you do), the type with rippling muscles, lots of groin action and no shirts. They had to raise 35k in a month and of course they managed it, despite it being a small town and there never seeming to be more than 20 people in the bar at anyone time.

I do NOT recommend this film (unless you want a little eye candy)

Rav19 · 25/12/2024 10:00

Every single film on Great Christmas is about love ffs. It makes me sick. Those of us who are alone don't want to see all theses people falling in love etc. Christmas isn't about finding love etc. play some normal films that don't have people falling in love ffs
