How many emails in your inbox?

TheSweetestHalleluja · 06/09/2024 06:26

Recently saw someone post about having lots of emails in their inbox and felt quite embarrassed that I had around 1500 in mine. However, on closer inspection that was 1500 unread emails Blush
My actual number of emails was over 26,000 Shock
I've been deleting and decluttering and am now down to about 2,000!
How many do you have?!

This thread should come with a trigger warning. Shocked how many emails people have. I've clutched my perils so tightly they have snapped! ConfusedGrin

Work 40 - waiting on people getting back with stuff, so I can action them
Personal 50 - waiting on action

I generally delete emails or pop them in a folder.

work - 123,000 ish
gmail - more than that

I don't file or sort emails, just flag them if they need attention and ignore them otherwise. no adhd, I just never found the need to sort email.

Cobblersorchard · 06/09/2024 10:04

We don’t really use email anymore at work, we work almost entirely in Teams and Sharepoint.

But I’m a folders person.

LBOCS2 · 06/09/2024 10:10

Work: 61, none unread

Personal: 579 unread, no idea how many in my inbox.

At one point I had 20,000+ unread emails in my personal inbox so I feel like I'm doing pretty well!

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/09/2024 10:13

I apparently have 57,121 unread emails in my personal email account, but I have adhd, and keeping on top of this kind of stuff isn't my strong point. Can't work out where to see the total number of emails, but there will be lots. It doesn't bother me. I have loads more unread ones in my work email and in a volunteering account too. The ones that I haven't read are mostly marketing crap or irrelevant junk that I can't be arsed to delete. I do read the ones that matter!

MathiasBroucek · 06/09/2024 10:17

At work, I run an empty inbox - everything gets added to my to do list / filed / deleted / answered. And I get 100-150 a day

Personal? Many thousands 😂

TheSweetestHalleluja · 06/09/2024 12:07

Phew, glad it's not just me!
I'm down to a rather saintly 500 now, and have created folders and everything Grin

On the downside, I had a £10 off voucher waiting to be used for groceries that I've accidentally deleted in my frenzied decluttering.

9500 but I used to run a tighter ship as I had a controlling boss. He would log in and clear my emails for me if I hadn’t done it, just bizarre: so it’s almost in defiance to him!

smashburgers · 06/09/2024 12:17

Fannyfiggs · 06/09/2024 12:20

Jesus, you're all giving me the fear with your thousands of emails.

I have 1 in my work mail and 4 in my personal inbox to remind me to do stuff.

I have ADHD but the pathological controlling type 😂

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/09/2024 12:25

gmail (personal) about 30,000 - this is after a massive deletion/cull last year

work - I have 2 work accounts. totalling about 85,000 emails.

😁😮

RandomUsernameHere · 06/09/2024 12:34

22 in personal, 18 in work. That's too many for my liking but got lots going on at the moment.

Lipsha · 06/09/2024 12:35

Work one had 12828 unread, personal ones are pretty much the same, couple of k unread, I rarely delete across both so tens of thousands for just general read ones

snakewillow · 06/09/2024 13:03

71 read that I am waiting on something to action, 0 unread. They get filed in relevant folders once done. I get about 250 a day so would miss something if I didn't have a system.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 06/09/2024 13:16

Work 54979. Moving things from one virtual space to another seems totally pointless to me.
