Painting stairs?

Starlightstargazer · 05/09/2024 21:34

How much are people paying for a professional to prepare/prime/paint stairs?

Ours are winder stairs, 13 steps in total.
Idea is to paint the stairs and have a runner down the middle.

south east

I've had recently day rates of £150+ for labour, then obviously materials etc on top normally.

Do they need a lot of preparation work? Thats probably where quite a bit of time is!

Sorry just seen this reply! Yes they will need some repair and prep work. Good to have an idea of costs - thanks

Its going to vary wildly. £150 for a day is very very low.

Recently paid 740 for hall, stairs and landing. That included ceilings, all woodwork including visible doors and a big cupboard and the paint itself. I'm in North Manchester and he is a local recommendation. Didn't even get other quotes as I thought that was fair and he did a fab job. Also did the box room and did 3 full days in total.

I’ve done all our floors myself- it’s much easier than it seems!

Sorry just realised I mis-read and you asked about just stairs so my previous post is of no help 👀
