Shaming gift vouchers scams

Crap experience in Sopwell House has deeply upset me

My parents got me a voucher (my dad since passed away)

i tried three + times to use it and they never ever had space. So I called weeks BEFORE the voucher expired and asked for them to confirm it would be possible to use it 48hrs after expiry - given they hadn’t managed to find a date before the expiry.

They didn’t reply or return calls until the day the voucher expired saying it would cost me 50% of the voucher value AGAIN to extend it.

This left such a bad taste. Felt like a waste of my mothers money A deliberate strategy to make vouchers hard to use and unethical approach.

Apparently this is a repeat thing for them.

You can do a money claim online and they should refund you . There’s a small fee. But you will get it back if you are successful.

Next time just book it first then tell them it’s a voucher afterwards or even when you arrive; don’t declare it upfront … this is what I’ve done in the past so I’m not given the inferior voucher-holder treatment!
