Help with a very small baby shower.

My lovely sister and her husband are coming to visit us next week and she is 32 weeks pregnant.

Unfortunately we live quite far apart and as much as I’m gutted, don’t think myself and my 3 teenage daughters, who are very close to their aunty will make her official baby shower. (arranged by our other sister) and so thought about doing our own mini one when they visit.

Nothing too out there, we are also hosting her over her birthday weekend and obviously want to want to make a fuss of her then too so trying to stick to a budget.

Very cliche and stereotypey 😅 but Im thinking a few coloured balloons/cupcakes (she knows what she is having) some alcohol free bubbles but what else can I make, do, set up to pass a few hours celebrating her pregnancy.

I know Pinterest, Amazon etc will be filled with ideas but just thought I’d ask here if you have been to a baby shower where there has been simple but special ideas that gone down well, particularly those where there have been younger family members there (13,16 & 18)

Get some string and get everyone to guess how big the bump is, then measure hers and see who's the winner.

Decorate baby grows?

Pin the dummy on the baby game
Baby shower madlibs - there are lots of free printable versions online

Well, usually a light buffet is served, so perhaps since there are only 5 of you serve a fancy tea with small sandwiches?

The guess the chocolate bar in the nappy game is always fun and child friendly. One person picks several chocolate bars and melts them slightly into a bunch of nappies and everyone has to sniff them and guess the chocolate bar 🙈

Afternoon tea, decorate baby grows, few little games such as guess the baby picture of celebs. Buy some of those little plastic babies and freeze some and see whose melts the fastest. Hope you have a lovely time.

if you get some plain white baby vests or sleep suits you could all decorate one each with fabric paints etc. a nice little afternoon tea will be lovely aswell

A nice afternoon tea would be lush. I wouldn't worry too much about games, as you'll probably have lots to talk about and I found games at my baby shower broke the flow.

I love that you are doing this for her! I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and what sounds lovely to me for such a small group event would be really yum food (make sure it’s all pregnancy safe) and a crafty activity that you all do and just chit chat while you’re doing it.
