Could this be whooping cough?

Hi all

First time I've ever really been worried about one of my DC being ill so that feeling alone has given me the Willie's a bit

DS15 has has a cough for a couple of weeks. Started mild and more like a cold, then he started with a real deep barking cough that didn't get worse and he felt OK so just treated it as viral with cough meds etc.

Today he was randomly sick, has stomach ache/nausea. Looks grey, feels sweaty to touch. Says he feels warm and does feel v. warm. Temp 37.3 but the thermometer is very old. He is quite lethargic.

But now when he coughs he makes a strange high pitched noise at the end. Not a 'whoop' but a weird noise all the same.

Have put a request in the gp bit just wondering if I should be as concerned as I feel and ring them rather than wait?

Possibly, I think DD had it when she was 17 it took weeks to go away.

It sounds like it could be - I would ring and try and get an urgent appointment.
