Windrush for Year 4

DC has Windrush as a topic this term, and beyond very basic knowledge I don’t have a clue.

Can anyone recommend some age appropriate books we can explore together? DC is 9 in October, and a very able reader.

The Place for Me by KM Chimbiri & EL Norry is the class text.

I’ve googled, but I’m not sure what’s coming up is what I’m looking for, so would be really grateful for some recommendations.

It's one of my favourite topics to teach as there so much good and valuable learning and messages to teach.

This book is a children's version of David Olusoga's Black and British. It puts Windrush into context and is perfect for KS2 readers.
