London folks and weather experts

Going down to London tonight until Şunday for a few days shopping and shows. I was hoping for some sunshine or at least dry but getting conflicting information from various weather sites

So London folk - is it warm enough for midi summer dresses and a denim jacket? Bearing in mind up here in Scotland I've had zero summer and had the heating on multiple days it's been so cold!

And weather experts - what website is likely to be most accurate?

I'm packing right now so swift responses are appreciated 🙏🏼

Yes it's surprisingly warm at the moment, and I think Saturday is supposed to be positively hot with a high of 25c!

I'd bring warm weather clothes, a jumper, and an umbrella for occasional showers, I think it will be too warm for a raincoat unless you have a very thin one.

Today I'm wearing jeans, a light t-shirt and a fleece cardi but it's too warm so it's tied round my waist while walking. I needed it on the Elizabeth line though as it's got aircon.

Sounds like a plan, lll dig out an umbrella

Currently summer dress and denim jacket fine....
And getting warmer .. maybe pac a mac/small brolly as potential showers ... But only light so not a big deal..

I've been wearing midi summer dresses for the last few months and haven't needed a jacket at all. I don't see that changing much over the next week!

The weather's a bit changeable at the moment but you'll find it much warmer than Scotland! Today feels cooler and is currently 17 degrees but will rise to 20 later. So basically around room temperature. Cool for this time of year in London but not unpleasant.

Central London (where I live) is usually a degree or two warmer than out near the M25 (according to my car anyway), and compared to the North-West (where most of my family live) there's a significant difference.

I agree with bringing an umbrella as the rain forecast looks a bit meh for tomorrow and Fri but the weekend looks better.

Brilliant thank you Londoners

Oh OP today I woke up and it's 14c and raining and you were the first person I thought of!!! I'm sorry if I completely misled you inadvertently, it wasn't supposd to be this cold.

I hope you're ok - if you are freezing, pop into Uniqlo and buy one of their merino jumpers for layering.

Needmorelego · 05/09/2024 08:47

@Xiaoxiong yeah..... where's our promised heatwave 😂🌧️🤔☔

HundredMilesAnHour · 05/09/2024 11:01

Yes, there is the coldest it's been for months where I am in London (currently 17 degrees as I type this) and one of the wettest days in ages too. Bad timing for the poor OP. Today looks like the worst day though so hopefully OP will still enjoy her trip. A heatwave on Sat did always sound a bit ambitious though. Although maybe 22 is a heatwave in Scotland? 😂

dancemom · 07/09/2024 17:44

I just came on to complain to you all! You deceived me!

And to make it worse, Scotland has had a heatwave these last few days 🙄

However we have had a great few days .... despite the rain and clouds 🌧️
