Dove products smelling so strong and unpleasant

I can't use soap or most shower gels on my dry skin and moisturising after a shower has a limited effect so I bought some Dove shower cremes and they smell so horrible 🤢

It's like a fight between a glade plug in and floral toilet duck. Can't they do a milder herby version or something? Nothing says cheap menopausal dry skin product more than these products. I also used the body moisturiser and it was even stronger and nastier. It's really unfortunate that they do seem to work and ease the dry skin. I just want something with a mild scent. I can't use soap, even mild soap. I used to love proper soap, but it all makes my skin tight and flaky.

Can anyone recommend anything else?

Don’t like the brand, don’t buy it. It’s really quite simple.

Have you been taken in by their adverts for "lotion soft skin"?

There are plenty of other products available. All shower gels and similar products make my skin react. Cant stand Dove especially its fake non-soap. Palmers cocoabutter unscented body lotion works for me.

For washing: Simple, Nivea Sensitive or Sanex Zero.
For subsequent moisturising Cetaphil lotion. They also do a good body wash but it’s ££££

I love Dove! Are you one of the many mumsnetters that faint at the slightest whiff of fabric conditioner? Or come out in hives if someone uses a plug in at home?
Surely if you don't like strong scents you would just choose one of the many unscented products or ones aimed at people with eczema rather than posting about a perfectly reasonable product that many people use.

I use organic baby products. I stock up when they're on special offer!

Why not get the Sensitive version?

Some people (I'm not one of them) love the scent of Dove so much that Perfume Parlour has a perfume similar to it.

Have you tried Muck and Melt soaps? They are incredible, all made with essential oils and natural ingredients and leave my skin so moisturised I don’t need a lotion afterwards.
