How messy an eater is your 4-5 year old?

My little girl gets sauce all round her mouth and drops bits if food in her lap etc. I'm just wondering what is "normal" at this age? She's 5 in December.
She can and dies use cutlery well.
But she almost always will need her face cleaning after meals.

I think that's pretty normal. My just turned 6yo is much neater than his 3yo brother. But the 3yo is likely to get food all over whereas the 6yo it's more occasional.

Normal. My 6yo is still like this. Often eats with her hands too and needs reminding to use her cutlery properly (she can do it, just can't be bothered).
