Quick help needed! How much wine?

How many bottles of wine would you put on a table of 8 people for a three course dinner? I thought 2x red and 2x white?

I'm organising a work event and boss said 1 bottle of each. I don't think it's enough!

I agree with you and would budget half a bottle per person.

I would say at least 3 of each. A three course dinner will usually take at least 2 hours.

The general rule is that you allow half a bottle per person, but if it's to accompany dinner, you can't really dictate who will drink red or white (unless you're pouring per course), so I'd say three of each.

If it's for work, you can always ask if your suppliers will do sale or return?
