Yes I know lots of you will be going WTF WHHYY and making rude comments, so please refrain from attacking this thread! We know your views 😂

For some of us it’s quite nice to feel like autumn is a fresh start and to do some nice little bits at home to feel all autumnal. Has anyone got any nice bits and pieces they’re sharing? I’m thinking of getting out some nice orangey brown throws and changing the candles and diffusers to new autumnal smells. I’ve also bought myself some pumpkin spice syrup to put in my coffee so I don’t waste all my money at Starbucks 😂 anyone else found anything nice?

Ooh I also have an autumn wreath I love and I’m going to put it on my door.

It was feeling too summery still but I've changed my mind today! Suddenly the trees are turning and it's grey and windy.

I like to have autumn cushions and throws, candles once nights draw in at end of Sept. I usually collect things like acorns and conkers.

I work in a nursery so we have our new cohort and themes like harvest and autumn this half term.

Oh lovely! Do you have a picture of the cushions?

Yes! I got a neutral pumpkin garland, to be placed on my fireplace surround. I’ve also got two boucle pumpkins and a ghost cushion for the sofa.

I’ve got some pumpkin lights from the range on the mantelpiece with a light up bigger pumpkin (fairy lights and leaves inside. Also twinkly orange lights in fireplace (there all year but only on Autumn /winter).

Runningcommentary · 02/09/2024 19:49

Homesense / TK Maxx home has nice bits.

Fimbledore · 03/09/2024 12:10

I cut some sprays of rosehip to put in a vase, and am going to cut some dried grasses today when I walk the dog.
I'm crocheting some mushrooms and acorns to display, probably with some real pine cones and conkers. I have some Maple leaf fairy lights I might dig out too.

Oooh do you have a link? I've felt the need for a bit of twinkle now the evenings are darker.

I too was clinging on to summer until about 3 days ago. Then i bought 2 lovely new jumpers and today arrived my gorgeous pair of long black leather boots! I want to be a bit smarter this autumn than last year when i just drifted into the dreaded leggings and trainers for months.

This morning i got all the lovely soft blanket/throws out of the wooden chest for evening warmth. It's not cold, but today has drizzled non stop here and it's summer over for sure😫

Cattery · 03/09/2024 13:42

@Laiste I’ll try to post the link. If I’m unable I’ll put a screenshot x

I've got these in my basket but haven't bought them yet.
I have a wall of glass overlooking the garden and I put bunting up for my DDs birthday and it looked so nice I've kept it up, but that's definitely a summer vibe. At Christmas I have some old fashioned fairy lights. So I thought these would look good but not sure if it doesn't look naff!
I 'll have a few real pumpkins out front for Halloween and if not carved leave them there for November, actual Halloween decs are just the the day. Also thinking of leaf wreath but again - naff? Can't seem to upload a second pic.
I don't do any other 'decorating' for Autumn.

ooooh they're nice! Good find!

Thank you. They'd look nice in the fireplace 😊

Laiste · 03/09/2024 13:51

Personally i'd agree about pumpkins = halloweeny vibes. I'm not tooo mad about halloween myself but i know some people adore it and that's ok. They do it well 😃

I love all the leaves, fruit, warm tone fairy lights though.

DelilahBucket · 03/09/2024 13:58

Just received a pumpkin reed diffuser for work and candle for home. Will be supporting small businesses with my purchases via Etsy or independent retailers websites. I think some fabric pumpkins will be a new addition this year and I've got some squirrel and acorn cushions.

Andnowshesatoddler · 03/09/2024 14:10

I would really like to make my home a little more autumnal over the coming weeks we've got some skull print blankets for Halloween we have a branch tree for Christmas that's just basically a twig I might get it out for some Halloween decks too.

longdistanceclaraclara · 03/09/2024 14:33

I have a door wreath, I'll change it in the next couple of weeks.

BaublesRocking · 03/09/2024 15:35

I have a door wreath too but it's got pumpkins on so I don't put it out til Oct 1st.

WTF is autumn decor? Is that a thing?

Jokes. I really want the ceramic light up witches houses on here for my fireplace.

Thank you for the link - this is adorable and my DIL would love the seasonal boxes! A great idea for Christmas presents!

Gonnaenodothat · 04/09/2024 12:57

I've got those autumn leaves string lights they looked lovely on my fireplace last year, I also have some autumnal scatter cushions and need to get some new throws. I've not put anything out yet I'm waiting to see if the hot weather has definitely gone!! If anyone is on Facebook there are some lovely groups such as autumn lovers UK where people can share autumn decor pics, pretty autumn scenery and nice things they have brought such as garlands autumn scented candles that kind of thing, I've found my people there lol.

ThisOchreLemur · 12/09/2024 09:15

Following, I love to have seasonal decor at home. I just bought a pumpkin bath math, pumpkin hand towel, autumn tea towel and autumn oven gloves all from george - asda. Today I'll be making crocheted pumpkins for my windowsills too .

That asda cushion is out of stock, anyone have a link for another one? something simple and cheap, thank you!
