Tonie box worth it?

Just that. Thinking of getting one for my nearly 5yo. Is that a good age for it. They've always been bad a settling after bedtime books, hugs etc so wondered if that would help settle and relax them once we've left the room

We have this and the yoto...I have found the yoto so much better than the Tonies Box. Way more longevity, loads more choice, plus Yoto radio is 👌 and the daily podcast too. The tonies never gets a look in!

Thank u . Never heard of that. I'll have a look

Another vote for the Yoto! Much easier to haul around the cards than all the tonie figurines!
Loads of podcasts and bedtime stories on Yoto as well which is great, lots of sleepy bedtime stories for free etc.
I have a referral code which would give you 10% off and earn me some points if you would like it, not sure if I am allowed to share it on here?!

3rd vote for Yoto

Yoto much better and less "babyish" for when they grow up

Procrastinates · 01/09/2024 20:00

Just another coming on to say a yoto instead of a tonie box.

DS is nearly 5 and loves his Yoto and I see no signs of that letting up any time soon. Whereas his friend has a tonie and whilst great it just seems very babyish in comparison and I doubt his buddy will still be using it this time next year.

Thank you. Will order one. :)

We have a Yoto mini with the carrying case and not only is it cheaper, but much easier to carry around, which is what 4 year old DD does all the time! She uses it every single day.

NothingAGoodCuppaDoesntFix · 01/09/2024 20:06

That answered My next question of mini or standard. I like the idea of a case to take away with us.

DS has the standard but that's only because he's had it since he was 2. If I was buying it him now I'd definitely get the mini. ☺️

Definitely more longevity with yoto- don’t forget to use a referral code (here’s mine if you want!) for 10% off https://prz.io/0zY0LnZUl

Hi, we’ve had both.
Mine have all had Tonie boxes for their second Christmas and then had yotos for their 5th birthdays.
Yotos have a superior variety of content and have full versions of stories rather than the abridged version of many of the yotos. My daughter is now 8 and reads along with many of the stories such as Charlottes Web etc.

modgepodge · 01/09/2024 20:13

Another vote for Yoto here! My daughter loves looking at the little pictures for each track too.

AnnaBegins · 01/09/2024 20:16

A lone voice for the Tonie box! My 8 year old loves the little figurines.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 01/09/2024 20:21

Another vote for Yoto. I'd get a standard over the mini. The mini's have had a few issues. We have a standard and it's still small enough for DD to listen to in the car/on a plane (with headphones of course). Plus I like the proper clock and the nightlight feature.

nearlyfreefromnappies · 01/09/2024 20:32

Another vote for the Yoto. We have three players and the app on an old iPod used every evening at bedtime. They're brilliant.

nearlyfreefromnappies · 01/09/2024 20:34

We have both the mini and standard. On balance, If go for the standard version, with carry case.

HAF1119 · 01/09/2024 20:37

Toro for sure! They're great and you can join Yoto club and get a card a month with free delivery for £10

My one absolutely loves his Yoto

mrssunshinexxx · 02/09/2024 13:53

Yes we have tonies I have a 2 and 4 year old they share a room and take turns choosing each night we love it

FrumpyMumsy · 16/09/2024 17:33

My 2 (7yo and 5yo) have had tonie boxes for years, still in daily use. Eldest now prefers the National Geographic ones, and has developed a real interest in all things space from the spaceman one. I'm a huge fan, and highly recommend to my friends with wee ones. I thought the novelty would have worn off long ago, but nope.
