Feel so ill I’m scared

Started Tues just gone. Can’t type much as so exhausted but frightened now. I’ve been seriously ill (hospital) twice before in my life and this feels like that but I can’t point to why exactly.
Fever, chills, intermittent muscle and joint pain, stomach pain, sore chest, breathlessness, cough, nausea and vomiting. Vomiting had stopped after the first couple of days but has come back today even though I’ve eaten virtually nothing for five days (handful of dry cereal, a cracker, etc.)
So completely exhausted and weak. Can’t sit up.

I’ve done three covid tests and they’re all negative. I’m vaxxed and boosted. The constant fever is worrying me - it comes down to 38/37.9 with paracetamol but never lower and never for more than half an hour so I am raging with it day and night.

I feel utterly desperate. We decided not to ring 111 today as I simply couldn’t cope with travelling an hour to our out of hours. We live rurally. I’m trying to make it to morning and hoping more local gp can see me.

Husband is worried and he doesn’t get worried by stuff like this usually. I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this. If flu how long before there is some respite? If not that then what? I am wondering about pneumonia or something?

Daffodils, I'm so glad you've got your answers and am well on the way to recovery. Such a scary time, I was almost there last year, different infection, a skin infection and not as far along as you towards sepsis but was told I was close. It was frightening enough so I totally feel for you as I can tell from your posts you were far worse than that even. Take care of yourself and just wanted to say I'm glad you're now on the mend and safe.

I'm so pleased you're on the mend and are returning to normality at a steady pace.

Definitely in this situation call 999, you know your own body best. And you're definitely not wasting their time (sounds like you're in a right mess) I had covid about 3 months ago and I got to the stage where I couldn't do anything for myself I was so weak, I called 111 and they rang 999 for me, the paramedics said if my vitals and ecg, blood sugars etc were ok then they could arrange with their own Drs to get me some advice and medications prescribed saving me sitting in a ED waiting area which currently had a 12+ hour wait! (Also I didn't want anyone to get covid off me) anyway, I was happy with this and we found I actually had a chest infection (complication of the virus) and was given antibiotics and antisickness. Whole process took 2 hours and they said they would of spent longer than that with me if I chose to go hospital anyway in the busier months. Never feel guilty for calling 999 always go with your gut instinct ladies and gents. Much love and get well soon xo
