Does marks and Spencer clothes run small?

I see a dress online on marks and Spencer that I like. It's a cotton dress. I don't know if I should buy my size (20) or size up and buy a size 22. I bought a t-shirt from there years ago and it was cotton and I never liked it because it felt too tight.

No they generally run big. I wear a size down.

In my opinion no they do not. I think that they are rather generous in their sizing.

I think they're pretty true to size. They're seem to be a bit smaller than Next sizing which I always find large. Pretty similar to Joules if you have any experience of their clothes.

M&S do usually tend to be on the generous side, but fit will depend on the style. Can you order both sizes to try?

(mind you it's been about 6 years since I've bought anything from them so it may well have changed)

Run large in my recent experience. I get a size down.

No I buy a size smaller in M&S than say Matalan.

I haven't bought anything from there for a few years now but I always found their stuff shrinks in the wash 😬
