Radio 2 Sunday Love Songs completely ruined

I was a huge fan on Michael Balls old Sunday show and I love him generally but my goodness this love songs show is an absolute cringe fest.
Steve Wright kept things light hearted with just the right amount of emotion if it was warranted.
This new format just feels like it's cynically planned to make listeners (and Michael hamming it up to hell) cry and it's just uncomfortable as hell.

They have just had a terminally ill ex alcoholic reading out a letter and then you have to hear the recipients response live on air - wtf.

I really don't get Radio 2's obsession with saying their shows are all about the listener anyway (it's your show), Sarah Cox is unlistenable with all the random people calling in talking about their lives , trying to be funny and her feigned interest and trying to think of things to say back.

On a positive I bloody love the Paddy McGuinness show - he is funny and natural and it's refreshing not to listen to contrived crap.

I loved Michael Ball's old show and don't listen to Paddy McGuinness and I can't stand him.
I wasn't overly fond of Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs as they were mainly ballads which I'm not fond of.

I don't know why they couldn't have left Michael Ball in his original show and just got somebody else to do Love Songs.

Yes I think it's limited him massively, he was at his best having a laugh and a joke.
