Anyone know what a support actor would get paid for a TV programme?

Been laid up in bed and watched a load of British TV box sets and it's all the same support actors! Inspector Morse, Death in Paradise, New Tricks blah blah. They never have the lead role but in everything!

Anyone know how much an actor would get paid per episode? I'm trying to imagine how they get a decent living from 2 or 3 appearances per year in different series.

I got roped into doing a TV advert when my husband (who's a real actor) got cast. They liked the idea of a real husband and wife playing the parts, so I played the widow in a motorbike funeral advert and had to stand there looking sad when the motorbike cortège went by, plus a couple of other non-speaking scenes. I was thrilled to be in it, and even more thrilled when my husband's agent insisted that I was now classed as 'talent' and should be paid the same as him. Then they asked me to do the voice-over which was so much fun to do in a fancy recording studio in Soho. I don't know for sure what the extras got, but I don't think it was more than £200, and they did no more than me, but thanks to my husband's agent, I personally got about £8k in total for a year's showing, and it was then renewed three years running which was fantastic. Great work if you can get it. I've never done anything like that before, and I really enjoyed the whole experience.
