No it's not about Kirsty....

I'm starting to look at a solo trip next year :) it says you can use the ticket for 1 outbound journey from your own country. So could I use this on the caladonian sleeper then catch the eurostar? Would that count as 1 outbound journey? Or is that too good to be true....

Can’t answer that. But plenty of people fly from Edinburgh so they can get further to start their journey.

Just a wee bump :)

No you can’t do the Caledonian sleeper then Eurostar as the journey needs to be the one calendar day. But you could take a morning train from Edinburgh then book a Eurostar for mid afternoon then could even book a sleeper train out of Paris for instance and get to
Vienna on one days travel.

My DC ended up buying individual tickets for travelling as the interrailing ticket was too obscure/difficult to navigate for the journey and we worked out a similar price for travelling on independently bought tickets.

As advised on the Man in Seat 61, we found there wasn't a huge difference in price and the option to upgrade for very little. So have a look to see if buying individual tickets would not be easier or similar.

We used Trainline for many bookings, you pay a surcharge but its an easy system and your tx are on one app

It’s been a long time since I did my own interail trip but from what I remember it depends on if the train company is signed up to the pass, and I’ve got a feeling not all of the UK ones are. I flew from the UK to Amsterdam and started my inter railing from there. A one way ticket to a nearby European city will most likely be cheaper than a uk train journey if you are unable to do the sleeper and Eurostar as your one outbound trip.
