A waste of time

What do you consider to be a waste of time?

My list includes ironing, bird watching, TV soaps and social media.

Going to the toilet.

Fundamentally we've been designed wrongly. When we were created by (insert name here) they should have made it that food and liquid was processed and absorbed 100%.

I think I shall be speaking to the Vicar about the weaknesses of creation, but in the meantime I have a more pressing engagement in the 'smallest room'.

I agree it's all quite tedious. I can cope with the odd number one, but life would be so much simpler without having to worry about bowel movements.

@GigiAnnna Procrastination is the main reason for being on Mumsnet.

Shopping (i.e. physically going to shops)
Queuing, at shops, venues, etc
Waiting for performances when they invariably start late (theatre, concerts etc)
Waiting for delayed trains and buses
Being stuck behind idiots driving at 20mph in 30 zones and 30mph in 40 zones
Airports (literally everything about them)
Being stuck in unnecessary traffic congestion due to idiotic road planning or idiotic "traffic MISmanagement at roadworks).

Basically, all the damn waiting and queueing we have to do these days, often completely unnecessarily and mostly down to incompetence and bad planning.

Doing nails; getting nails done. No longer a priority for me.

Fucking periods.

Stripping beds and tidying a holiday cottage.
They've always got a cleaner coming in.

Turning up on time for mandatory training at work.

Without fail it starts at least 15 minutes late with trainers saying ‘we know how busy the local roads and parking are so we’ll give it a few more minutes as we were expecting lots more people than this’. I find it so rude for those of us who have made the effort to be on time.

M&S paper carrier bags. Paper. In the UK. Where it never stops raining. Why don't I just give you 40p and you can throw my shopping straight in the street Hmm

Isseywith3witchycats · 01/09/2024 19:58

Sweeping my kitchen floor because half an hour later the Siamese has lobbed cat litter all over it (she's an inside cat) and the boys have chucked cat biscuits all over the other side
