I have recently started managing a team of four people. One of them is still on probation. He gave me a gift the other day…I thought it was something trivial, but when I got home, it was an expensive piece of jewellery. So I had to get compliance involved, and they made me return it. It’s beyond odd, and as an employee in my sector, any gifting is a no-no. Now it’s awkward all around. What was this about?!
