Help M6 North exit closed how to get to Manchester?

We're on M5 travelling north and need to get on M6 North. The signs are saying the exit is closed. Has anyone got any tips on route home as Google maps isn't showing the closure.

Surely theres a diversion in place?

Can't see anything at the moment, hopefully there will be

You'll need to ride it out and follow a diversion if there is one. where are you now?

Can you not just continue to the next junction and google maps/sat nav will reroute you from there/

Diversion as on highways agency website:

• Exit the M6 at J27, at the roundabout take the A5209 eastbound.
• Continue then turn left on to the A49 northbound. At the A49/A581 junction turn right on to the A581 eastbound.
• Continue on the A581 then at the roundabout join the B5252 northbound.
• Stay on the B5252 then take Euxton Lane westbound.
• At Euxton Lane/Central Drive junction follow Central Drive northbound.
• At the B5248 junction follow the B5248 westbound.
• At the A49 junction turn right on to the A49 northbound.
• At the B5256 junction turn left on to the B5256 westbound and continue to the M6 and re-join at J28.

The usual diversion is via the M42 I think. It will be signed. Are you sure it’s not still warning of the M6 J27 closure? Huge accident there this afternoon.

Were you planing doing the M56 or M62, which one is shut?

Yes I'm assuming it's about the J27-28 closure.

If you head towards cannock Stafford way that you will get you north on m6

M62. It was seeming to be the exit slip to the M6 from the M5 that's closed. We'll see what happens.

Sorry i thought you were Walsall way that around junction 11 I think m6 or 10

Ah could be M42 then, can always go up the M1 if need be.
