Looking for tips. Does it get worse at some times of the day? I am in my 50s. What would you recommend eating? I have looked into fodmap and that could possibly work for me.

Fodmap is the one thing that massively improved things for me. It's not a cure and hasn't solved things completely but it does mean there is a fairly straightforward guide to what can be aggravating - and I like the fact that it doesn't discourage you from eating anything, it just suggests lowering amounts.

Unfortunately a lot of the stuff that is high fodmap is also an important food group - i.e onions and garlic/or pulses and legumes. But it does suggest ways you can stay eat those without suffering. Such as using lentils from a tin.

I always get worse throughout the day. No idea why!

Dairy is the big one for me. Lactose free milk helps. Harder cheeses are ok. Yogurt also. Ice cream is the worst - maybe dairy/sugar combination - but occasionally I take the hit. Mornings are worse so don’t have any dairy for breakfast if going out. Also coffee but I’m resisting reducing that.
