Who remembers Peddlars?

Much maligned and adored on here in the late 2000s. Purveyors of scrubbed up, repurposed and overpriced back-of-the-shed type junk for your country pile; fairy lights and bell tents before they were mainstream and actually, done pretty good knitwear.

Anyway...social media keeps sending me these folk. Ian Snow. They seem remarkably similar, for your refurbished school coat hook needs.

Oh I remember Peddlars, money for old rope, We Saw You Coming type stuff IIRC!

CurlewKate · 30/08/2024 16:59

I do! But from back when they were mostly clothes. I had an amazing very full tiered tartany/tweedy skirt that was like wearable central heating. And they had trousers with different patterned legs.....

I admit to having looked at cushions on that site though! "our first trip back to India brought this vintage shopping spree" bleurgh

I was going to say "We Saw You Coming", but I wasn't sure anyone would get the reference!

I will admit to buying a framed bus destination banner, of where I grew up in London. I wanted the number too, but they didn't have that one. I tried the London transport museum too, but 77s were mysteriously absent.

Oh I remember them selling vintage spanner’s for £300 a pop or something. Outrageous prices for basically junk

CurlewKate · 30/08/2024 21:25

I'm another in the "I saw You Coming" club!
