How much swimwear?

EarlofShrewsbury · 30/08/2024 15:33

If you were off to an all inclusive resort that was right on the beach, how much swimwear would you take? It's for 7 nights.

It's not a type of holiday I've done before but I'm off to a location wedding. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Two.

username44416 · 30/08/2024 15:34

I don't really understand the question. If I was going away for a week I'd take a single swimming costume or bikini.

Precipice · 30/08/2024 15:34

One. I'd be wearing the same costume all the time.

Enough to ensure you were not wearing swimwear for two days in a row. If you can wash/rinse in your room/apartment take that into consideration.

two one to wear and one to dry while other is still wet ,remember to rinse them in sink just water is fine.Drying them with chlorinated water can cause fading

EarlofShrewsbury · 30/08/2024 15:53

Oh, I've overdone it then 😂

I've got 4 swimsuits and 2 bikinis.

I was worried it wasn't enough 😆

2 or 3

Imnotarestaurant · 30/08/2024 15:56

5-6. I wouldn’t wear the same dress every night so I don’t want to wear the same swimsuit every day.

Sourisblanche · 30/08/2024 15:59

Just back from S of France, I took 3 bikinis in 3 different colours/styles. Was perfect for me.

Doggymummar · 30/08/2024 16:00

One tip and three bottoms is what I took to Greece earlier in the year

MiddleParking · 30/08/2024 16:01

I aim to take three each for a week for me and the kids. DH takes one pair.

  1. It'll dry overnight

Unless you're extremely tight for luggage, as many as you want, swimwear doesn't take much space.
I'd take more than one, partly because you might want a dry set but mainly because accidents do happen and it'd be a bit of a disaster if you had a rip.

I've got 30kg for one week in total.

20kg hold bag and 10kg carry on luggage.

Personally I'd take 4... I'd take 2 sports swimsuits for "proper exercise swimming" and 2 fancy swimsuits/bikinis for "sunbathing/beaching/dips in the sea". I get that category 1 is a personal choice category though... I do love a morning proper swim on holiday though, particularly in an all-inclusive, because you know, the breakfast crepes...

BestestBrownies · 30/08/2024 16:20

x2 full swimsuits for proper early morning swim before breakfast and again late evening when there are no kids around and sun is not too strong (appreciate I'm probably in the minority here). Plus x2 rash vests, x2 swim shorts, x3 bikinis, and x1 water shoes for water activities. I also take a full-body rash vest (like a wetsuit, but thin), if I am planning to do a lot of snorkeling as I'm very pale skinned.

I love being in the water on holiday, but can't stand a wet cozzie or sunburn.
I suppose it depends on how often you intend to be in the water really.

😂

I think you'll be fine!

I would take 2-3.

One for beach and one for pool.

Plus a spare in case.

LoobyDoop2 · 30/08/2024 16:28

Three. One on, one drying from yesterday, and a spare just in case. But if you’re talking about bikinis, it’s not like they take up any space, so as many as you want.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/08/2024 16:35

20kg hold bag and 10kg carry on luggage.

That's loads for a week - obviously as it's a wedding you'll probably be taking more smarter clothes than a normal holiday but that amount would do me for a fortnight on an active holiday where various other stuff would be needed.

fancyfrogs · 30/08/2024 16:35

I took 5 bikinis for a week

spikeandbuffy24 · 30/08/2024 16:35
  1. So I had 3 to wear and 1 emergency one in case one broke or something
I tend to over plan!
