Found a lump...here we go again

I'm 52. No period for approximately a year so I guess in menopause. Throughout my 40s I was plagued with breast cysts. Lost count of the times I was referred to the breast clinic. I stopped checking for lumps and forgot about them.

I had a routine over 50 mammogram 12 months ago. All clear. Found a lump this morning. Feels like a cyst but who knows. Last thing I need at the moment. Sod it 🙁

Gp appointment Monday morning…..but chances are it’s nothing

Even better ….make sure you get a 2 week referral….I would tell you not to worry….but I know you will…..do something nice this weekend …..update …but only if you want to

Dr didn't think it was anything sinister as it was squishy and mobile but she referred me to the breast clinic under the two week thingy.

I completely sympathise with you. I’ve had more lumps than I can remember. I’ve a patchwork of small scars alI over from core biopsies. All thankfully have been nothing sinister. I have gotten better with dealing with it but there is stress and a niggle of doubt each time. That’s good news from your doctor. They always generally know but best to check either way. Best wishes and hope the wait for your appointment is not too long.

The breast clinic phoned today. An appointment in 3 weeks time. Thought it was supposed to be within 2 weeks?

I mean I'm not that concerned but....

Is the 2 week referral still a thing?

It was in Oct last year, but my appointment was just over 2 weeks when I got it 🙁

I’m not in the UK so can’t speak for there. But it’s not 2 weeks here anymore either my sister had to wait months. I have private health insurance so get seen quicker.
