Recommendations for a multiple family holiday UK

We have a friendship group of 6 families and we would love to get away together for a long weekend. Kids are 7 plus in age. It would be lovely to be somewhere we can all eat together (almost 30 people) in some form at least once so whether it’s a big house, a hotel or separate accommodation with a communal space we are open to ideas!

Does anyone know of a suitable place? One member of the group has a health condition that would be tricky with camping so that’s ruled out (or at least in tents is ruled out).

I can recommend this place, if you’re looking for something in the UK- https://groupretreats.co.uk/pf/the-castle-eden-durham/

Or this place, in rural Portugal (it says 19, but they also have apartments within a couple of hundreds metres walking distance) - https://1821houses.com/houses/casa-dos-condes/

As long as all the kids are sensible and not prone to charging about and breaking stuff, both would be fine. We’ve holidayed in both several times as a very large group of adults there to have a bit of a party weekend, and hosts are fine with that and not too precious.

You can rent entire youth hostels in the winter, we used to go to YHA Conwy.

Sorry I only put it in the title but definitely looking for the UK only.

Kids are sensible but may charge about a little as a big group of kids together will want to play and we want them to enjoy themselves. Also the men in the group are likely to be a liability (no drinking required)!

I'd definitely recommend a youth hostel in that case! Conwy is on 4 floors and our kids all played hide and seek for hours. The dining room is huge and you have full use of the kitchen. It's on the hill side above the town, easy access to the castle etc.

@froomeonthebroom that does sound like a good idea. Some adults might need convincing with the bunks situation but it’s defo an option!
