For no particular reason?

DS just told me he had the nicest pot noodle ever earlier🤣 The flavour did sound quite nice, then I realised I’ve never had a pot noodle for some reason!

Same with olives...

WhamBamThankU · 29/08/2024 21:20

Meat or fish

MavisPennies · 29/08/2024 21:20

Caviar
Pop tarts
Lobster
Cookie crunch cereal
I'd happily try these but it's never come up

Guinea pig, tripe, durian & heart I've had the opportunity to try but didn't want to

Snails, pickled winkles, pig testicle, octopus, dried squid I've tried but wouldn't have again.

terracottafarm · 29/08/2024 21:21

Anything with animal parts in, such a steak and kidney. My god.

terracottafarm · 29/08/2024 21:21

Also offal!!!

Jewelanemone · 29/08/2024 21:23

Tripe. That's about it really. I'm the polar opposite of a fussy eater and will try anything once. I've just never been in a tripe situation. I suppose I could buy some....

drunken · 29/08/2024 21:23

Big Mac
Cheesecake
Subway
Cheese since I can remember eating, apparently I had cheddar once when tiny and threw it back up

Hucklemuckle · 29/08/2024 21:28

Messen · 29/08/2024 19:29

Durian.
Heart (not keen on offal apart from liver)
Rambutan

Rambutan taste like lychees

I'm adventurous with food and will try anything. Jellyfish, hakarl (fermented shark), duck and chicken feet, pig ears, camel, croc, tripe etc.

I've never tried:
-Poutine (I've never been to Canada)
-Hosta plants, yes, apparently you can eat them!
-Surstomming
-Balut

Edited

Second time balut mentioned today. So weird

DeathpunchDan · 29/08/2024 21:33

WheresMySupportCat · 30/08/2024 06:55

Daisydoodog · 29/08/2024 20:41

Just seen somebody mention spam. Now that is up there with one of my favorites! Has to be cooked though. Anyone else love/hate it?

Edited

I also said spam. How DO you cook it / eat it? A local chippy does it deep fried which I think might be okay-ish.

One of my friends goes mad over frey bentos pies - it's her standard Friday night meal apparently. I've never had that either.

ShiftySquirrel · 30/08/2024 07:03

I've never had tripe, black or white pudding, but have tasted liver. I wasn't keen.

I will try sea food, and generally like it, but that's a pretty recent thing.
I've graduated from just fish fingers and pilchard curry as a child, to cod, salmon, prawns etc. Now I'll give anything a try.

DH got to the age of 40 before eating pizza, pasta, curry and Macdonald's!

He's still cautious and prefers mild amounts of spice, but eats all the above now.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 30/08/2024 07:09

Seafood & offal/organs (except whatever rubbish is in Brussels pate as my mum used to give that to me as a young child)

Oh yeah and spam/corned beef stuff. Probably lots of other things too! Always think of myself as a good eater 😁

shellyleppard · 30/08/2024 07:10

Oysters, giant prawns, most offal 🤢

thefamous5 · 30/08/2024 09:22

There's lots that I haven't tried simply because I haven't had the opportunity.

I'll try anything once though though!

Don't love oysters, not keen on the idea of gazpacho but I will try it given the opportunity.

FedUpMumof10YO · 30/08/2024 09:22

Oysters

LynetteScavo · 30/08/2024 14:17

I was telling DH this morning that I've never drunk an Oasis. He tells me they're nice, but I doubt it.
