What’s a food you’ve never tried?

For no particular reason?

DS just told me he had the nicest pot noodle ever earlier🤣 The flavour did sound quite nice, then I realised I’ve never had a pot noodle for some reason!

Oysters however are delicious, highly recommend with a little lemon juice squeezed on raw

I beg to differ. There’s a very good reason why in Victorian times, oysters were considered poor people’s food.
They’re so much nicer cooked.

Offal of any kind (I'd never want to try any)
Pate
Oysters
Pot Noodles
Marmite

Tooty78 · 29/08/2024 19:54

Chicken.

onwardandupwards · 29/08/2024 19:57

Curry
Avocado
Seafood sticks
Crab
Prawns
Oysters

LynetteScavo · 29/08/2024 20:01

Oysters - I love fish and shellfish but I don't want to eat oysters.

Subway- it smells funny and I've now made it a thing to see if I can live my whole life without eating one.

Tripe - although no one has never tried feeding this to me.

I didn't eat a Pop Tart until I was about 40 and then was very surprised how delicious they are!

skippy67 · 29/08/2024 20:03

Lamb. The smell of it makes me heave.

Daisydoodog · 29/08/2024 20:04

@LynetteScavo ooooh I love subway! I’ve never had KFC

Sethera · 29/08/2024 20:05

If it counts, I've never had a KFC. It isn't that I never eat fast food, it's just that there always seems to be something more appealing than KFC in situations where I might want that kind of thing, e.g.motorway services. I do intend to try it one day; there will come an occasion when the stars align for it!

Sethera · 29/08/2024 20:05

@Daisydoodog x-post with you on KFC 😁

LynetteScavo · 29/08/2024 20:06

I know you said for no particular reason, and I also know I gave reasons...but most foods I'm very keen to try, so feel I have to justify why I haven't tried oysters etc, when in reality the occasion has just never occured.

abbey44 · 29/08/2024 20:06

KFC, or any similar things. I can’t bear chicken skin and the thought of biting into it inadvertently under the crunchy coating makes me want to gag. (Same goes for skin on fish too, so I always have to ask about it in fish & chip shops)

Daisydoodog · 29/08/2024 20:07

@Sethera I agree! I’ve just never fancied it. I can drive past a McDonald’s or Burger King and think “mmm”🤣 but have never done that with a kfc. Might have to give it a go😁

Coca cola

Rubyandscarlett · 29/08/2024 20:09

Oysters, mussels, jellied eel.
I like fish but none of these appeal to me at all

Sidebeforeself · 29/08/2024 20:11

Ramen
Taramasalata
Pigeon, guinea fowl - anything birdy except chicken ( I cant explain this)
Gazpacho ( COLD soup?! Are you mad?!)
Herring, trout etc

susiedaisy1912 · 29/08/2024 20:12

Snails

susiedaisy1912 · 29/08/2024 20:13

And jellied eels

rzb · 29/08/2024 20:13

Monster munch. Does it still exist?

Monster munch. Does it still exist?

Oh, yes, indeed! Recommend the beef flavour if you want to try it.

HeyMicky · 29/08/2024 20:17

Insects
Testicles
Camel
Guinea pig

Mostly because I haven't visited the countries where these are regularly eaten

familyissues12345 · 29/08/2024 20:20

Mango.

I just can't stand the flavour of it in juice or anything, so I've never tried the actual fruit. Even the thought of it turns my stomach!

PoodlesRUs · 29/08/2024 20:22

Namelaka

GoldPlayer · 29/08/2024 20:22

Frogs legs, snails, (don't think I could)
But would like to try some great caviar

KatheKollander66 · 29/08/2024 20:22

I've never eaten peanut butter.

rzb · 29/08/2024 20:26

@Sethera I'm content to live in monster munch ignorance. In my mind, monster munch is entwined with the terrifying (to a small child) Sugar Puffs 'honey monster' adverts.

I've not had honey puffs, either.
