Is it safe for my 1 year old kid to get swimming lessons

Of course! Mine started when she was 3 weeks old. It's a great way to get out of the house and for them to start learning an incredibly important life skill. If you can afford it, I'd definitely start.

What do you mean safe? At 1 you will be in the water with them

We never bothered with lessons until age 3/4 ish. Before that it's more for the parent than the child imho

Perfectly safe, but a waste of time and money if you're hoping that they're going to get swimming quickly. IME the kids that went to WaterBabies were not better swimmers than those who started 'late' at 4. Their parents had some cool photos though! Expensive hobby for Mum.

Our local pool starts lessons from 6 months.

Yes definitely, the sooner the better. Find a proper baby swim group and take it from there
