Biggest lies you’ve ever told

Name changed as could be outing.

I was just thinking over my life and there are only two really big lies that spring to mind that I kept up for a while although they did both come out in the end.

Didn’t tell my first boyfriend I had been a virgin until 6 months after we slept together (I was early 20s and embarrassed). When I did admit it he couldn’t give two hoots and I’d been wrestling with it in my head that he would somehow be annoyed, sickened and dump me (?!)

Didn’t tell my parents I’d dropped out of/been kicked off my uni course for many months (I lived in a different city but was going home every other weekend to see boyfriend). My boyfriend knew but no one else including my flatmates, entire family etc. and it absolutely broke me having to live a lie.
They only found out when my mum accidentally opened a letter addressed to me. They drove down and told me in person that they knew. I thought they’d be so angry but they were actually nice and the relief I felt in that moment was honestly the best moment of my life which sounds so weird but the weight lifted was indescribable.

Since that one I’ve really tried to be as honest about everything as possible! Don’t want to be in that situation ever again. I really hate lying.

Anyone else done anything like this?!
