Can someone help me make a decision re. buying a car

I need a new car, I've got £2.5k cash. I need a 4x4 for towing my horses, I can't decide on options...

Option 1: 2015, only 50k on clock. Previous cat N repair. Lovely looking car. It's £5k which is a fantastic price and it looks like new, I could use the £2.5k cash towards it. It's a niche brand but a car I've owned before and am familiar with (although I do fancy a change these cars are reliable). But it would put me in a position of paying off some finance which I'd rather avoid if poss.

Option 2: Older pickup truck (I've always lusted after a pickup 😍) however year 2008, mileage higher at 130k. Only £2.5k so would need finance. Obvs would have more age related stuff. Also higher insurance costs.

Help!

I would go option 1.
A 16 year old vehicle with 130k on the clock might be the cheaper option initially but when's mot up? Guarantee it'll start costing money almost from day 1

Option 1

Thank you - I think sensibly it would be the right decision even though it's not a lovely pickup
