Recommendations for Sunday Lunch in Central London?

Aarghhh, suffering from way too much choice on Trip Advisor! Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice lunch restaurant in London, ideally
Bookable in advance (open Sundays) for 4 people
Mid-Range
Easy to get to from West Hampstead and Waterloo (Jubilee Line?)

I like Middle Eastern food/fish but not super fussy.

Thanks in advance!

Hawksmoor, do a great deal on Sunday lunch and have a few spots in central london

sorry, I replied based on a Sunday roast, so maybe nit what you're looking for

Thanks wasn't really thinking roast dinner, though wouldn't rule it out. Just been told it has to be coeliac friendly as one more criteria...

Blacklocks in Soho
Roast in Borough Market
The Portrait in the National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square

Oh sorry, just seen your update. The Portrait is very good and not a Sunday roast type place.

We really enjoyed Dishoom too in Covent Garden

Thanks @Rina66 I have been to the Portrait before and it's lovely I had forgotten about it. On the shortlist!

Blacklock for a roast

I also think the food is always good in Zedels and Balthazar

Harry's Bar behind Oxford Street?

If the weather is good Alto by San Carlo on the roof of Selfridges is lovely.

I also thought of Windows by Galvin and La Gavroche but sadly they've both closed this year.

Definately blacklock if a roast

If your friend is coeliac there is a delicious Thai place called Kin + Deum in London Bridge, where everything on the menu (including the soy sauce) is gluten free. They do a fabulous spicy Margherita too.

There’s also an amazing Middle Eastern place called Arabica in Borough Market (not sure about gluten free options here though)

I love the Old Compton St Brasserie!

So coeliac friendly is a whole different kettle of fish to gluten free. A lot of restaurants do gf or write on menus to tell us if gf is needed, but even cross contamination in a restaurant can be very very serious for a coeliac, and many restaurant staff don’t really understand the difference.

I would recommend finding a coeliac London group, They will be able to say which restaurants take it deadly seriously. And your friend will love you for doing so.
