Neighbours , respectable youngish couple with small children, growing weed in greenhouse at end of garden . We can smell this throughout our garden and our kids don't want to be outside . It's really strong smelling and sometimes I can smell it inside our house !! Or maybe I'm imagining it now, dunno ! What would you do ? I don't know them v well, just for chit chat , moved in about year ago. Friendly enough . It is a biggish greenhouse with weed growing inside...smell drew me to notice it, and I can see the leaves growing as the top of the greenhouse is visible from our side. Bit of a dilemma. Not sure if it's for personal use or what. Don't know how to broach it but it's stopping us use the end of our garden.

I thought it need a lot of heat and light to grow, from my experience of watching police documentarys on tv🤣🤣

Some body planted a few outside our local community hall in the flower beds. The council workers were watering them and everything. Nobody twigged what they were till they were about knee high. So they can grow outside but it probably affects the growth and definitely the quality

As to what to do about it though that's a issue. As already said unless they bare growing a lot the police won't do much. Give them a telling off maybe. But the does anyone else overlook their garden would they know it was you who'd reported it?

It's a bit daft of them to grow it so openly as anyone could report it. They will have to heat the greenhouse in the winter or bring them indoors. They won't grow in the UK in an un heated greenhouse they need to be quite warm.

The garden is quite lush with lots of trees . I can just see the top of the greenhouse but can see the leaves of the plants inside. Can't really see into the back bit of the garden .

It does apparently smell a lot if you grow it in a confined space. So I'm told.

Before anyone asks no I'm not growing it myself. I'm on an international gardening group and a lot of people grow it for personal use in other countries. I asked a few questions about it on there before.

You can only grow it in the UK if you have a sepicial licence which is insanely expensive to do as you can grow it to make the medical CBD oil which is legal in the UK on prescription.

I've attached a photo for identification.

Yes, I'm sure it's the same as the photo. I was wondering if they have a side business in cbd oil actually , hence the quantity.

You don't need a prescription for CBD oil. You can get prescriptions for cannabis, though, to vape or take as an oil, so the flowers must be grown somewhere for that!.

Either call the police, or knock the door/post a note through if you aren't actually bothered about the grow itself and are just bothered by the smell. Plants do actually smell as well, it's not quite the same smell as it being smoked but it is similar.

If its just the smell bothering you just go and knock and tell them you've noticed their grow and you really aren't interested in what they are doing, however the smell is really affecting you and your children and its likely other neighbours can smell it too who may not be ok about it. And just ask them if they could look into filters/ventilation to sort the smell out.
I'd imagine They will either sort the smell to avoid a police report, or they will shit themselves that you'll call the police anyway and get rid of it all quickly

The CBD oil that you can buy over the counter is very different to the CBD oil on prescription/illegaly produced. Over the counter doesn't contain traces of THC

CBD oil has had the THC removed. Cannabis oil has CBD and THC in it and is illegal in the UK unless you have a prescription.

Bloody hell, I can't believe somebody has suggested breaking into the neighbour's property. A few plants would only beget a caution, breaking and entering would have OP in front of the magistrate.

The smell won't get you high or anything. They'll have to harvest in a few weeks anyway before it gets too chilly.

I know ! Crazy !! Yep....I'm wondering how they will be able to harvest it unnoticed......I know smell doesn't get you high but we just don't like it really...quite intrusive .
