Universal Credit Overpayment

Hi all

We realized late into claiming UC that savings over 6k reduces the amount you get and savings over 16k means you can't claim UC. Once realizing we informed them and then sent over bank statements from the start of our claim. A decision maker then informed us we owe around 3.5k and that we would receive a letter off debt management dwp. We were told this over the phone.

This was back in March. We haven't received any letter and have since closed our UC account.

I have rang 3 times now UC and Dwp debt management and they have no info regarding this debt. On our journal is shows us uploading all bank statements etc but nothing else. They have said not to worry and according to them we don't owe anything as it stands. It's as if the debt we were told we owe has disappeared. I'm slightly anxious in regards to whether they've sent it onto fraud investigators, even though I think it's unlikely as we informed them and the decision maker was fine with all the bank statements etc

We are looking to move home and we have the money ready to pay back the overpayment, but can't as there is no paper trail of this.

Does anyone know what could have happened and if this debt will eventually be sorted?

Cheers
