I need to change my life.. where shall I start?

Okay so without going into detail.. I’ve got to make some changes in my life. I don’t look after myself enough - I eat crap, drink, vape, have ONS’ (which make me feel like shit) and don’t particularly like my job.

I am determined to start making some changes but I know it can’t all happen overnight.

So, I am looking for ideas for some things that you have done that made a very positive difference to your life? Both big and small!

I changed jobs and reduced my hours slightly too, it did mean taking a pay cut but I've had to cut back. I joined slimming world, cut my hair, get my nails done every 6 weeks, making a point of seeing my friends and family more. Started taking iron and b12 as I had such low energy.

Are the ons linked to you drinking too much, because if so, cutting down on alcohol could change 2 things at once.
I'm in no way judging BTW, just trying see if they're connected.

So one of the best changes I made (after giving up smoking) was quitting drink. If you're doing things you regret in the morning like ONS then I suggest you stop drinking.

Take a good multivitamin and Vit D and learn assertiveness skills.

I joined the local gym, signed up with a personal trainer & started weightlifting. It’s made a huge difference.

Even if that’s not realistic I’d definitely recommend exercise of some kind.

Edited after realising what ONS stood for.

Do easy things first.
Drink more water - set a reminder on your phone and drink a glass every two hours during the day for eg.
Once that’s a habit and you don’t need the alarm most days, change something else. Maybe walk for 20 mins, and if you are at all competitive use wearable tech to try to walk further each day - or map out exactly a mile and use the tech (or any watch) to reduce the time it takes to walk it.
Then move on to something else.
Look at Michael Mosley’s Just One Thing series for ideas.
I didn’t use MM but I’ve changed my lifestyle beyond all recognition in the last 2 years. I’ve done it gradually so it’s just bedded in and it’s just me now. I’ve lost 3 stone along the way.

The quickest boost would be to start exercising. You can start seeing a difference within a few weeks, in both your body shape and mood.

The best thing would be to stop vaping and alcohol. These, however, may need more work.

I would look at drinking and vaping first if I were you. Maybe change your username if you are not sure and start two separate threads and ask for more specific advice?

Have therapy.

Seriously. That’s what has the most difference in my life. And actually, all the rest - the diet, job etc.., - felt into place when I started to feel better in myself.
