DD15 is in my circle but at the moment she’s showing as “ No network or phone off”. She’s able to make calls & send texts. I did read that a way to stop your location showing is to put your phone in battery saver mode. We have asked that DD has her location on when she travels alone on the train & at festivals etc, although she’s only been to one festival. She’s due to travel by train later this week & I’ve said I need to see her location before she boards (will also only buy her ticket once I’ve seen that it’s on). I haven’t mentioned battery saver mode in case she actually hasn’t done that & it gives her ideas! Just wondering how you guys & your teenagers navigate Life360 if you’ll pardon the pun?! I have posted about this before but can’t remember the replies.

I stopped using it as it seemed too intrusive. We now use Find My iPhone for emergencies when I can't get hold of ds. He deserves privacy.

Get her to send a WhatsApp message when she arrives/leaves instead, it's far more respectful of her privacy. Or don't you trust her?

There's lots of reasons why it would pick up though, location services switched off, low battery or no signal as just some of them.

It’s more about safety than trust really. DD is emotionally quite immature & a little naive.

Plus we don’t ask her to have it on all the time

@RabbitsRock we use it. We've always treated it as a family tool so our boys (now 17 & 20) can see where we are and we can see where they are. It's much easier than having to remember to message on arrival (that would be a pain) and it's very useful when one of us loses our phone.

However, my DS2's phone often says "No network or phone off". Sometimes it is due to battery saver and sometimes it isn't. We haven't figured it out yet, despite checking the settings several times.

@RabbitsRock if your daughter has an Android phone, the problem might relate to this setting in the pic. Battery saver comes on automatically when power gets down to 15%, but doesn't turn off again until the battery gets back up to 90%. If they don't fully charge their phone then battery saver will be on a lot of the time.

@RabbitsRock this advice may be worth a try: https://support.life360.com/hc/en-us/articles/23053672554903-App-Refresh-Steps

Fyi, @RabbitsRock we tracked down our issue to this setting, which needs to be "off". This is for Android, but there may be an equivalent setting for iPhone.
