I'm after some birthday present ideas for my MIL please:
70th birthday
Likes sewing/knitting but has a good machine/loads of supplies already
Likes 'naice' things but has simple taste in clothes/accessories
Doesn't read much
Doesn't work
Drinks tea, gin, wine, prosecco
Doesn't enjoy cooking
Has a rare breed dog
Likes art but doesn't have a discernable style/taste
Needs to be postable
Around £50-60 budget

Any ideas?! Perhaps something that you've received/been given and really loved that's a bit unusual or different... We're out of ideas and want it to be lovely!

Things my DH got for his 70th.

A lovely hamper filled with cheeses, pates and a decent champagne.

An experience day (parachuting which he used to do back in the day).

An overnight stay in a nice hotel in bath.

An English Heritage subscription which is one of those things he wanted but would not splash out for himself.

A netflix subscription (as above).

A gin tasting box - Fortnum and Mason do as nice one? Or a gin cocktail box - I got gifted a Microbar box and thought it was lovely?

Rather than posting something could you spend the time with her? Luncheon out, afternoon tea somewhere, some sort of experience you go to watch or participate with her?

Does she have a garden? Squirrel proof bird feeder, Bird bath, binoculars. Mini hamper of gardening things like secateurs, seeds, Gold leaf gloves.

Cook vouchers or other online cooking, delivery type things

Monthly flower delivery

Mini hamper of specialist teas, gin, prosecco made up yourself, or a Fortnum and mason type hamper

Would she like a portrait of her dog? I think there's new artists and art students that do really decent pet portraits.
If she likes eating out, then a gift card for a posh restaurant? Not a Groupon as I'm guessing that might not meet her standards?
Could you take her to lunch and round the shops and then she could pick a gift she likes?
Some fancy Egyptian cotton cushion covers, or a silk dressing gown?
A day at a beauty spa for her plus a friend. Or even just for her?
