Ds bedroom is almost done.

This green rug does not work does it? Ds wanted some blue and green. I managed to get some blue in but not green . The rug messes it up though I think. ?

Also any suggestions on bedding /duvet cover?

Oh what sort of head board should I get ?

Almost forgot he's 8.

Maybe a green headboard and green curtains would help tie the green rug in?

cupcaske123 · 26/08/2024 17:52

The green rug look awful, can you return? I suggest blue, yellow, orange or purple for a rug. I suggest a brass headboard and any of the above colours for bedding.

A coat of something calming over the geometric shapes and the mismatching rug and woodwork will look OK.

No the plain green doesn’t go. I’d swap it for a deep blue.

Changingplace · 26/08/2024 17:55

I think it’s the wrong shade of green, the other colours are bright & vibrant - that green is too dull to match, I’d try and find one in a different shade.

Green duvet ? Green lampshade

Hopediesfirst · 26/08/2024 17:56

I’d just get rid of the rug, you don’t need one with carpet and look ar some multicoloured curtains

Mumistiredzzzz · 26/08/2024 17:57

It's all very busy. I wouldn't add any more colour. Does he like the box colours? I'd go more playing with them personally.

You mean paint the wall? The wall that looks like it’s just been done?

It's covering up marks in the carpet that I can't get out 🤣 I do get your point though. I don't thing it works.

Not getting new curtains.

Dunelm have some inexpensive rugs in a similar shade to your curtains and the blue on the wall.

MaidOfSteel · 26/08/2024 18:17

I'm not much help, but just wanted to say you've done a fabulous job with the wall!

Honourspren · 26/08/2024 18:18

On another note, I would get one-way translucent foil to cover up the lower part of the window as the room seems quite overlooked? The window already seems to have something on it, but shapes are still easily recognisable and I'm sure DC would appreciate some privacy, especially in the later years.

Yes, green will not go with those colours - cant think of a shade which would go. Get a rug in a colour from the wall or match the blue curtains.

something like this bedding. Get a rug to match the curtains and a table lamp to tie it in too plus a cushion on the bed the same as the rug and curtains.

@Imnotbad Can you return or exchange the rug? It's the shade of green that's wrong; there's too much yellow in it. I think deep forest green would work, or perhaps a moss/sage green. Go to a carpet shop and look at plain green carpets; when you see a couple of shades you think wd work, ask for samples to take home and take it from there. Good luck!

I'd go go for a bedhead in white, or natural or blonde wood, and bedding in solid colours to match the paint or curtains. Two sets: one to one wash, one in use.

If it was you who painted that wall, you've done a really good job. (You've got calm, cheerful blue curtains, like summer skies; an exciting wall, like presents to open or other worlds to enter; just add a deep green rug, like a forest floor. Lovely! He's a lucky boy.)

I got the rug from amazon
I have never tried to return something before . What do you mean to much yellow.

I think white for headboard is a good idea.

Thank you . He's not seen it yet . I'm sure he will love it
