Meal for two

If someone bought you a voucher for a meal/tea/breakfast for two for a birthday present would you assume you could take anyone for the treat or would assume you had to invite the person who bought you the voucher?

assuming i had a partner i would think it was to invite the partner, or my mother but not the giver of the voucher

I’d assume I could take anyone I wanted to.

I would also assume I could take anyone.

If I was the giver, I'd never assume I would be invited.

You could take anyone at all.
