I learnt that you don’t need to peel ginger, what else am I wasting time on?!

I feel incredibly daft but I’ve been painstakingly peeling ginger whenever I fancied some in a recipe, which isn’t often because it’s a nightmare. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to learn it’s not necessary 😩

On the flip side, I also found out that people peel mushrooms. I never do this 🤔

Maybe I live a very sheltered life.

What the shit? I just bought fresh ginger for the first time the other day, as I could NOT find minced ginger anywhere. I had to Google how to prepare. All said peel. With a spoon. I was lied to!

Check out the frozen and sliced section.

Peppers
Onions
Mushrooms
Cabbage
Spinach
Casserole veg (potatoes, swede, carrots, celery)
Leeks
Mixed Mediterranean veg
Ginger
Garlic

I make an awful lot based on the above in the slow cooker.

Oooh ideas please!

Is it true that you don't need to keep ketchup on fridge? Something to do with ingredients. Might save a second or two keeping it in cupboard rather than fridge, especially when someone's filled the ketchup bottle space with bottle of wine...

I've never put ketchup or salad cream in the fridge. I do put pickle in there but that's because it takes me too long to get through a jar by myself otherwise that would stay in the cupboard too.

My mum peeled mushrooms and rhubarb. I don't peel most veg that I cook with or eat raw.
