'Old school' films my teens will enjoy

Having a family movie night tomorrow. Girls are 13 and 15.

Any suggestions for classic ("old school") movies we could all enjoy?

Thinking something like Labyrinth (seen lots of times!).

The kind of stuff we would have watched in the 90s/naughties.

Already watched Dirty Dancing, Grease, Back to the Future etc.

Ah I did this with my daughter (then aged 14) during the first lockdown. Her favourites were Four Weddings and a Funeral, About A Boy and Speed. She also loves the Cornetto Trilogy.

Sotiredmjmmy · 25/08/2024 21:37

It’s a 12

it may be rated as 12 but is not appropriate in my opinion for girls of that age.

I'd heard about it and heard it was great and then saw it and was shocked. Now as someone who has seen their portion of porn over the years it's not that I'm a prude but I thought this was just somehow not right. I wouldn't recommend it to any female of an impressionable age who might think this is a good idea to work of a living. Obviously there may be a message in it that I missed but if I can miss it so can they.

My 14yo just watched it. It's hardly that bad!

I watched it multiple times as a teenager and I haven't grown up to dance on a bar just the same as I watched jurassic park and didn't grow up to be a dinosaur.
