Boring thread but Flowers in advance.

So I used to be with the AA, then they increased prices after two years so I went with an online one. Next I was with Green Flag. Got a discount for RAC the following renewal but then heard very poor feedback on here about them so switched back to Green Flag.

Last year Green Flag was £54. They now want £94.
So a hike of £40 when - and this is why I'm Sad Angry - I haven't called them out once!
My car is 11 years old now but I still don't do much mileage.
Who are you with and how much has yours gone up this year?

Thanks in advance x

I was with Emergency Assist last year and had them out once. They arrived in under 1 hour 30 (I was safe so it was OK), took my car to my local garage, and because I live on the driver's route home he dropped me home. The only reason I've not renewed with them (the premium didn't go up so I was impressed) was because I got a very good deal with the AA when getting car insurance through them.

Does your insurance company offer you a discount for their preferred breakdon cover? Mine do, so I'm with Green Flag. I've needed them once last year and they were there (at my home) within 2 hours, getting the car to start. No price increase this year bar the standard and the callout was free.

RAC used them twice in 10 years. Both times they’ve been utterly utterly awful.

Latest time, I got a flat tyre. I know in principle how to change a tyre. Unfortunately I’m not strong enough to do it.

I rang them at 9 am reported the problem, they told me they’d come at 4pm! Leaving me at the roadside for the whole day.
