Hi all,

My beautiful niece has just has a baby by unplanned c -section. She is breast feeding and doing brilliantly but she’s obviously exhausted (I remember it well).

I am doing a food shop delivery for her and her DH as a little surprise as I live a few hours away and am looking for some nice treats for them. Any ideas what might go down well?

They has no dietary requirements of allergies.

TIA

I'd have loved fruit cake and flapjacks - something quite dense and easy to eat out of hand while feeding.
And nice smelly cheese bread and deli meats
Shepherds pie, curry, lasagne, spaghetti bol.

Ooh and a nice granola and Greek yoghurt.
Chocolate biscuits

I really loved bakery ready made apple pies when I had a newborn. Also chocolate hobnobs (oats good for milk production??)

I'd have liked lots of fresh fruit like watermelon, melon, pineapple and stuff for a charcuterie board not a load of cakes and biscuits

Mind you I wouldn't have said no to a nice sticky toffee pudding

Get her a hamper from M&S delivered I would have loved that as a foodie treat

easy to eat and grab foods nothing they have to prepare!

cakes
nuts
pre prepared fruit
those easy cook meals in a foil tray
fancy crisps
biscuits
croissants and James
loads of fresh juice

nobody eats healthy when they first have a baby it’s all about carbs and refreshing drinks!

spikeandbuffy24 · 25/08/2024 19:46

Soup might be good as you can shove that in a cup and drink one handed!
A nice pizza for the oven?
