Set yourself a timer of one hour or two and just get on and see how much you can get done - this always helps me. Starting is the hard part

PixelatedLunchbox · 25/08/2024 09:56

Make a list of everything you need to get done. Then number the tasks from least to most important, OR from hardest to do to easiest. Start at #1 or the hardest task to get them out of the way first. Give yourself little rewards / quick break after completing each of the top three.

Do the worst thing first - the part that is stressing you out the most. For me, thats when the dining room table has stuff dumped all over it / craft things / mess. I make myself a coffee, put on some songs and then just methodically clear the table top and give it a proper clean. Then I feel much better once thats done.

Get off Mumsnet and get it done 😆

I agree with pp though. Write a list, get the worst stuff out the way first. Have a break for lunch/coffee, but set the timer on your phone for say, half an hour so you don't get distracted for too long.

You'll feel so satisfied when you're done!

It's not actually as bad as my head is telling me.

2nd floor is tidy apart from small room but I'm decorating that. So I will do that last . Landing is tidy as well.

1st floor I Need to clean the bathroom , landing and my room. Sweep/hoover stairs.

Ground floor clean toilet/room . Straighten up kitchen . Clean tidy living room .

I will probably leave my bedroom till last do the rest today

Not till my delivery comes 🤣

To look at my bedroom that looks the worst.

But the rest is silly bits . Where I say oh I will do that later. Or i will put it away in a min. Etc . And it never gets done. So I'm going to do them bits and the bathrooms first.
