I am applying for a job and it asks to use the STAR method to answer the questions.

This may sound silly but do you actually write it out like:

Situation-
Task-
Action-
Result-

don’t actually write those as headings, just make sure you cover them in your examples. Make sure you are covering the requirements in the competency framework if there is one and use all your word count (as close as you can) 😊

@Colinorpercy thank you! Im panicking and stressing over it so much as I really want the job 🤞
I'm finding it difficult to stay within the word count lol

Write a draft without worrying about the word count, and then edit it afterwards to make it more concise. You'll feel more confident when you have your answer in draft form.

When composing job applications, I get over that initial block by telling myself I'm free to write any old rubbish, as I'm under no obligation to submit the application if I'm not happy with it.

@Sethera thank you, that's a good idea and I'll give that a try

I found it helped in the draft to write it like. The situation was xxx. So the task was xxx. I toom the actiom Of xxx and the end result was xxx. Then reword it after taking out. The STAR words
