What option is the best for storage?

I’ve attached pictures of them both

I currently pack all shoes and coats away (sometimes leave my sandals out as I’m constantly in and out)

I have a very small cupboard under the stairs which stores extras. But I’d like something for the shoes that are worn daily etc

I thought the actual shoe cabinet would be best because I could then add a mirror on top to the wall, and a tasteful little textured bowl for keys maybe. I’d like to pack DC’s school bags away so might need to leave a shelf off

I’d go for the shoe cupboard and do what you suggested-mirror and nice bowl. I always try to do things like that to keep shoes/bags tidy but never manage to stick to it!!!

Agree shoe cupboard. Where do you keep coats. Do you have a book you could hang DC's bag?
