Anyone been? Thinking of taking DD8 with me, so just me and her for a week in November.
Will we be okay or is it a bit like Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey?

Travelled to Turkey last year, was lovely but one day DH fancied an evening swim so DD and we had a soft drink in the beach bars (was quiet, around 5pm) and it was a totally different experience, didn’t feel unsafe as such but received too much attention, from
both male and female staff.

We stayed at Melia Dunas and you'd be fine if you were in a resort like that. We were advised by hotel staff not to leave the hotel and go into local areas as we had no men in our group. In the actual hotel everything was amazing, no problems at all.

We went earlier this year, we stayed in Sal. To be honest, neither of us want to return. The sea is too rough to swim in and there really is not much there. We got pressured by locals to buy things in the shops and even taken to a cash point to get money out. To top it all, I came home with pneumonia, which may or may not have been acquired in Cape Verde. Others may have had better experiences, but I think would personally not recommend it.

It's OK for a few days, but I couldn't spend much longer there tbh, it's pretty undeveloped.

Thanks all, it’s looking like a bit of a no then! DD likes a pool and holiday friends not sure we would get that here.
Anyone recommend anywhere hot and friendly (but not too friendly)? I don’t think we will get anywhere or DH will have to come 🙈🤣 he hates flying and the heat.

Stayed at Riu Palace in March, best holiday wev ever had, absolutely loved it. Beware the uv is so high that even if its a bit cloudy you still burn!

It was totally safe! We went to the beach, went on zipline excursion, went on quad excursion. Jumped in taxis, never had any issues or felt unsafe!
