Random US Tiktok person apparently proving British food not bland. I wasn’t aware that it had the rep of being so in the US (so if the purpose of news is to inform then maybe I have answered my own question 🤷‍♀️). Last time my US cousin came over, he and his wife tested things like cheese before it was passed to their kids, they said in case it was too strong. In terms of international food reps, it seems like a bit of a bottom of the table play off (I think the food is good here, much improved on the 1970s anyway but am talking in terms of broad brush global perception).

Kalani Smith is a young man with long hair and a beard. He also has brown eyes and is wearing a black mesh baseball cap turned backwards. He is holding up a bag which reads "Cardiff bakestones"

Tiktoker Kalani Ghost Hunter on a mission to defend British food

Kalani Smith, from Tennessee, reviews staples of British cuisine to his three million followers.

Summer holidays for everyone including MPs always means little news over the summer.

Coughsweet · 24/08/2024 16:19

But why is the view of this person on “British food” worthy of the BBC new website? What am I missing?

Is it to get people to start “why oh why” threads on SM?

Whatever he eats people are going to want to avoid, he's not a good advert.

This fat guy is all over facebook eating such delicacies as Greggs and then doing ghost hunting

This is my second favourite sentence on Mumsnet today.

Does it taste good? I like both of them but I’m not sure it would work together.
