Uh oh, it’s a washout!

Had booked festival tickets for one day only - today - and it’s going to be pissing it down all day until about 7pm!
Im guessing jeans won’t be a great idea and im considering taking binbags so we’ve got something to sit on if we need to.
Has anyone else got any wise tips to handle the wettest ‘fun summer day out’ ever?! 😂
Thankfully we are coming home once it’s finished so no tent to contend with.

Yep skirts shorts
put your phone in a sealable bag or water sports clip
maybe a face cloth as Mini towel

Cheap rain poncho
skirts and wellies
face glitter for some pizazz!

TheChosenTwo · 24/08/2024 10:46

I was going to wear a denim dress and tights and timberlands, my wellies are neoprene lined and way too hot for this time of year! It’s also not really been that wet until today so maybe it won’t be too boggy…?!?
I’m ditching the denim dress and will choose something jersey instead.
Ive got a brilliant waterproof so I’m sorted on that front.
Face cloth not a bad idea in principle but it’s just going to get wet and stay wet isn’t it? Then it’ll just be soggy in my bag!

Wear jelly shoes and skirts or shorts. Once you are used to feet being wet and accept that (takes 20 mins to one hour depending on tolerance) it's far better than trying and failing to keep feet dry. Damp feet are much worse than fully wet feet. Just wear waterproof shoes that will stay on your feet like hiking sandals or proper jellies.

Stay standing up (less surface for the rain to hit) wellingtons, Are you driving? Parking in fields can turn into a mudbath. Take a change of socks. Dance a lot.

TheChosenTwo · 24/08/2024 11:22

I don’t have jelly shoes!!
wet feet won’t bother me once I’m a few pints in 🤪
No not driving, we’ve got Ubers booked there and back.

On the way home, just to update - it barely rained! One fairly substantial downpour for about 10 minutes but that was about it! In the taxi on the way home now - didn’t need any of my tissues or bags to sit on, the ground was pretty dry!

Sounds the best you could have hoped.
I know a party of 5 walking back from Caversham to Reading town centre ... hope they got on as well as you did!

Ha! my cousins are at Reading this weekend, he said this morning it was so wet that they were tempted to pack up and come home - I think it would have been a pretty miserable day if it rained all day long!
